Basement Ideas - Great Guest Room
When family and friends come for extended visits, where do you put them? Using these basement remodeling ideas will provide your guests with a space to call their own.
You know how strange it can feel when you stay at someone's home and you don't have a space to sleep. You either end up taking someone else's room or you sleep on the sofa. Give your guests some much needed relief by giving them a space of their very own.
In order to implement this great basement remodeling idea, you need to clear out your basement. Here is a shopping list of the things you will need to purchase or find for your basement remodeling idea: - A nice paint color for the walls - Carpet or a nice rug - A bed set with matching sheets, pillows, shams and bed skirt - A comfy sofa or a couple chairs to give your guests a sitting area - A small dorm-sized refrigerator to leave snacks and refreshments for your guests. - A side table with a clock - A bill to give to your guests for their stay... just kidding!
Once you have your paint color picked out, go ahead and paint your walls. Try and get the colors to coordinate with the bed comforter and any furniture in the room. For example, choose your favorite color from the bedding and use this as your base for the foundation for your design.
Put your flooring in. Either your rug or maybe carpet. Now it is furniture time. Situate it to flow nicely in the room, you don't want the space to feel cramped.
There are some finishing touches you can add to your guest room to make it even more special. Add a coffee pot in the room and some great flavored coffee. Make sure to add a mug or two to go with it.
Add some beautiful scented candles on the night stand, and place a television somewhere so your guests can watch a little late night t.v. without disturbing the family members.
Your guests will feel more welcome because they wont be sleeping on the couch or kicking someone out of their room. This is a great basement remodeling idea, especially if you have a lot of guests around the holidays. Have fun and enjoy your guests.
